VD520 Inline differential pressure flow sensor
Germany- CS instruments
Description:
The VD520 Differential Pressure Gas Flow Meter from CS Instruments calculates the volume flow of compressed air or gases based on the Pitot tube measurement principle, and is classified as a differential pressure flow meter.
The VD520 is equipped with built-in pressure and temperature sensors for compensation, allowing it to accurately calculate the true instantaneous volume flow.
Typical applications include air compressor outlet flow (FAD), exhaust gas monitoring, and more.

Application
- Air compressor outlet / single machine efficiency flow measurement – undried (FAD)
- Clean compressed air system – dried (CDA)
- Exhaust gas and gases with larger particles
Advantage
- Pressure and temperature compensation: Can display actual volume flow (m³/h).
- Multi-parameter measurement: Simultaneously measures flow, totalized flow, temperature, and pressure.
- No heating element: Resistant to contamination, high temperatures, and particulates, making it ideal for industrial environments.
- Handles high flow rates and high-pressure gases: Measurement accuracy is not affected by changes in flow velocity.
- Applicable pipe sizes: Suitable for DN8 to DN80, available with flange and threaded connections.
Technical data
- Latest technology: Minimum detectable flow velocity of 2 m/s, covering all flow ranges of variable-speed air compressors.
- Accuracy: ±1.5% of measured value (m.v.)
- Power supply: 18…36 VDC, 5 W
- Communication interfaces: 4–20 mA, Pulse, Modbus RTU (RS485), Modbus TCP (Ethernet), PoE
- Pressure rating: Up to 30 bar
- Temperature range:
Sensor: -30…+180 °C
Housing: -20…+70 °C - Protection rating: IP65
- Probe material: Stainless steel 1.4301
- Threaded installation range: DN15–DN50
